Exhaust Particulate Filters

Exhaust Particulate Filter

Exhaust Particulate filters should be included as personnel safety equipment for those who work with diesel or petrol powered vehicles that are started or driven indoors.

  • Exhaust particulate filters that should be easy to fit directly on a vehicle's exhaust pipe and have a quick change of the element facility.
  • Should only be used when the vehicle is started and moved at low speed indoors (not for high revs).
  • Removes upto 99.92 % of all particles measuring 0.12 microns produced when an engine starts.
  • Reduces smells and aromatic hydrocarbons.
  • Reduces mutagenic, carcinogenic and allergy producing substances transported in the air on particles. It is known that polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and polycyclic organic material (POM) adhere tightly to the particles in the exhaust, and can only be released with extensive processing, and also that the particles accumulate on workshop equipment and premises.
  • Reduces carbon monoxide gases and diesel particles.
  • Most workplaces in the vehicle industry have no "gas problems" today, rather exhaust fume problems that are mainly found in the form of smells, and which can be effectively reduced with an AES Exhaust Particulate Filter System.
  • Solves the smell problem with exhaust fumes where flexible and existing equipment is not sufficient, and gives users greater flexibility when using the premises.
  • AES Exhaust Particulate Filter System.are effective immediately the engine starts, unlike vehicle catalytic converters which are not activated at exhaust temperatures below approx. 350°C, making them useless when driven indoors.
  • Insensitive to moisture, and can be used when driving in wash rooms.
  • Do not need preheating.
  • Low usage costs.
  • Can be used on most exhaust pipes, and weighs very little.
  • Can be used as additional protective equipment for personnel and personal protection.
  • Used in vehicle factories, workshops, exhibition halls and on ships all around the world.

AES / L20 Filters are designed for indoor use for temporary driving of Trucks, Buses & Trucks. Ideal for the multiuse of different vehicles using the same filter assembly. A tube is pressed into the exhaust pipe and the bag covers over the outer diameter of the pipe and a flexible clip takes the rest of the fume into the filter area.

  • Particle separation:   ~99%
  • CO separation         ~30%
  • NOx separation        ~60%
  • RC HO separation     ~90%
  • HC separation          ~35%

Heavy Commercial Exhaust Filters HT 10, HT 20, HT 35       (Click here for more details)

The AES / HT Filter is designed for temporary or permanent installation on Forklifts, Heavy Vehicles and Industrial Plant, generators, cranes and Equipment for moving vehicles within confined or internal areas where the installation of a fixed vehicle exhaust extraction system is inappropriate or financially unrealistic. The filter is positioned in-line of the vehicle exhaust capturing the fume / dust in a specially formulated exhaust fume filter. Minor vehicle modifications are required as these units are permanently fitted to the body of the engine.

To compile an accurate quotation we require all engine power in CC or Kw, performance and exhaust dimensions.

NB. It is your responsibility to provide the small metallic flex required to connect the outer diameter of your vehicle exhaust to meet flat flange on the filter. We do not provide the `lorry flex` type material this but it’s usually available from most Commercial Motor Factors. The filter comes complete with a drilled flat flange with 4 bolts mating holes for your modification to match the exhaust diameter with a self welded spigot required to suit.

A good judge of the required filter is the exhaust diameter of your vehicle. Please ask for your particular vehicle as we will not take responsibility for the wrong choice of filter ordered. Option for a 2-way switch for filter life preservation mounted within the cab area to alter air intake through the filter or bypass to atmosphere when vehicle is external to the building. This is ideal when units pass from inside to outside on a regular basis. This assembly is in addition to either of the above options. All installation and fitting is done by yourselves.

Heavy Commercial Exhaust Filters (unlimited temperature PF Range)

The PF is a particle filter and catalyst that reduces diesel particles by at least 95%. The diesel filter is tested and approved by VERT Schweiz, Rapport Nr. B140.

Depending on the exhaust temperature the CO and the HC gases are reduced by between 80% and 90%.

PF filters automatically regenerate when the correct temperature is reached. With the additive the regeneration starts from 300°C instead of 420°C. The filter burns off during normal operation. The additive can be delivered via automatic onboard dosing or manual bulk dosing. The exhaust temperature must measure over 300°C for the filter to operate.

The maintenance intervals for the filter can be up to 1500 hours depending on :

  • Fuel quality
  • Oil consumption
  • The engine condition
  • Usage
  • Type of additive, etc.

Hired weekly units in the PF range are also available on request!
